Well, for one, every other successful business before you has used a copywriter. Take a look at any great brand and you’ll see that their copy is always on point. Here’s an example to put things in perspective.
Let’s say you’ve got to make a speech in front a huge audience, and let’s also assume that in this audience are some potential customers for your business. Well, it’s your lucky day, because today YOU get to choose who writes and reads this speech.
Your website, for example, is often the first point of contact with a potential customer and so it’s important to make a good first impression. You want your business to look professional and for the content that features on your website, from your blog posts to your about page, to reflect that.
After all, the first thing a customer will do on your website before clicking ‘BUY’ is look at what they can see and read. Some of those customers, much like us copywriters, could even be rather snobby about things like grammar. If they’re not convinced by what they see, then they’ll assume the worst and just walk away.
Now, with that in mind, you’ve got a decision to make. Back to the speech. Huge audience, potential customers etc…
Imagine you could choose Morgan Freeman, with his articulate delivery, silky tongue and level head. Perhaps you’d choose David Attenborough, or maybe even a funny-man like Russel Howard!
The point is, it doesn’t matter how good your product is, or whatever else it is your business offers when your shopfront doesn’t reflect the goods inside. The big bad world is fickle, and it WILL judge your book by it’s cover.
